Best Beauty Schools: our researched selection

By state

Results are listed alphabetically. There is no price ranking: prices in different currencies and bases (per day, per course, per year, per instalment) are not comparable. Courses for teens and children appear only when you choose a youth audience. Online programs are never counted as physically located in a state or city. Items marked Sponsored are paid placements; they never change recognition status, verification or order.

About beauty training and licensing in Germany

How beauty training is organised

Beauty training in Germany runs on several parallel tracks. Cosmetics (Kosmetiker/in) can be learned as a three-year dual apprenticeship or, in many Länder, as a two-year school-based training at a Berufsfachschule ending in a state final examination; private schools such as Dr. von Morgenstern Schulen in Lower Saxony describe a two-year full-time course with about 34 lessons per week and a 560-hour external placement. Short private courses in make-up, permanent make-up, lashes and nail design are issued as school certificates, not state qualifications.

Kosmetiker/in (schulische Ausbildung)

Kosmetikerin - staatlich geprüft (private school, one year)
Kosmetikschule Schäfer in Giessen offers a 12-month full-time course whose examination it says is run together with the Staatliches Schulamt. Source

Languages and licensing

Private career courses state German-language entry expectations (Dr. von Morgenstern Schulen asks for at least a B2 certificate where the school-leaving certificate is from outside Germany, Austria and German-speaking Switzerland). No English-taught course was found in this research pass.
